FAMILY PICTURES UGH!

I LOVE  to take pictures, but my husband, well not his favorite thing.  We went down the street to the green belt and set up.  it was so cold and no one was excited to be there except me (I LOVE to take pictures...until this time)  Dave was grouchy the kids were cold and well none of the pictures  were usable...I was not ready to give up, so enter Photoshop! And then one Turner family 5 picture!  oh well I guess that next time  I will bribe my family with some place warm for family pictures!

Step one Cut out daves face from this pictures

Step 2, take the cut out face from pic 1 and place it on pic 2

Step 3 blend the colors in to pic 2 and pretend that everyone was happy to take family pictures
And that is how it is done in our house! ( I am not the biggest fan of this pictures but dave is smiling so ya me!)

Thanksgiving post

It is that time of year.  Where Facebook explodes with I am thankful for posts.  However I think that it is funny that there is such an emphasis on being thankful this time of year we forget that we need to be thankful all year. So I am going to make a Thanksgiving resolution to be thankful all year not just one month.  Honestly for me this is hard I have not had a great couple of years. Back in July I was having a hard time. I just found out that I was going to have my second surgery on my ankle. I cried all the way home from the Doctors office. David and I talked about what was going on and what was in-store for the future.  I asked for a blessing and I usually don't share what was said but this is pertinent to this post. The gist of the blessing was I am not out of the deep water yet, and I was going to have other waves to get past (ocean metaphors are the best) . Not the most comforting words, but I was truly Grateful.  I was comforted in a way that I cannot explain.   So I am thankful for my injury. (?) Not in the way that I love to be hurt and have to deal with pain, but in the I am thankful for comfort that I feel, that I have never had in my life before.

Enough thankful post here is what we are up to! Isaac, Levi and Ashton are growing and they make me laugh daily.
Isaac is in 4th grade it is crazy to think that he is old enough to be in 4th grade.  He came home from school one morning and asked me if he could sign up of the after school Tutoring program (he wanted to stay at school 1 hour longer)    Isaac loves to cook so we have been teaching, sometimes not the best taste but always edible!  He is great!
Second Grade has been good for Levi he has made some friends that he enjoys spending time with.  He is still and adventure and incredibly funny.  He is the most snugly kid as long as no one sees him.  I am a little worried about his obsession with what others think but we are working with him.  His smile is infectious!
Ashton the Ham for the camera.  Ash is in the 1st grade he has Mrs Van the same as his brothers.  He has a Politicians demeanor. He is so convincing with his fish tales that his classmates have decided that the Mrs.Van  was wrong.  She has learned to ask Ashton if what is saying is a lie he will always admit to it.  He is so loving and wants to make us happy. He is such a joy!
I am SO VERY THANKFUL for the Turner boys! Wild and crazy but the complete our family!

Lovin' Summer

SUMMER
We went on a hike Levi pouted the whole way because he had to leave his bike at the bottom of the hill. He Was worried that a bear was going to take it and when I told him that bears don't ride bikes he was worried that a bear would sit on it and break it.  I informed him that bears were scared of his bike and then he said, "What if I forget what it looks like?"  I finally convinced him and he went up the hill just like this pic shows.  When we were on our way down he looked at me tapping his finger on his cheek and said "Mom, I think that I forgot something, Ummmm I think that it is red."  (his bike is red)  We got down the hill and he was pleased that a bear didn't ride or sit on his bike and he remembered what it looked like.
The carnival we has fun and only lost one child. Ashton Loved the big slide and went down it about 30 times I got distracted by one of my friends for 30 seconds and when I looked up he was not on the slide.  I panicked and begun my search.  I saw a couple of LPD officers and started to give my statement when I saw him on one of the rides.  A lady approached me and said that she asked some lady if he was her child and if he could take him to the bumble bee ride, well this lady said yes so off they went.

We have spent most of our days outside and at the Neighbors house.  One day I needed to run to my house to get something for the neighbor and I saw this guy in my front yard .  We named him Danny the turtle. I took him to Animal control and they identified him as a Painted western turtle.  Since he is a wild species and it is illegal to keep as a pet the animal control officer let him go in the river
Our neighbors invited the boys to have a lemonade stand, the boys made $27.00 pretty impressive

Swimming pool.  We spend many days here. Isaac got new glasses.

Our First boating trip, Rained out!  We were there for 3 hours waiting out the weather,  but finally we threw in the towel.  We will be going again!

We are having a pretty good summer so far.

Swimming or skiing?

I had 2 day off this week and I decided to take the kids to the pool.  The first day it was so cold and windy we only stayed for 2 hours.  So we decided that today we were going to give it another try.  We invited some cousins and went to the pool as soon as it opened at 12:00p we has so much fun and when we left I noticed that we had been at the pool for 4 hours.  When we got home the boys were so tired and they were fighting after separating them two of the three fell asleep.  I went to check on Ash and I saw

I think that he might be my child wishing for cooler weather!

Who LOVES going to the hospital on their day off! I DO I DO

I had the week off due to recovery from a Cholecystectomy (Gallbladder removal). I was not going to go to the hospital during this time NOT AT ALL...  Well, *sigh* I should Know better.  I was folding Mt Laundry (which is now half the size of MT Kilimanjaro thank you for waking up at 4am patty) I let the kids go play at the neighbors for a while I was about to go pick them up when I hear Ashton crying and our Neighbor yelling PATTY,  all I saw was blood and a swollen eye.  My first reaction was crap he got his eye, luckily it   was just above any crucial parts!  Well I took him to the hospital,  Ashton was a ROCKSTAR!! he didn't cry once and he said that the DR was AWESOME  and he thinks that he could have stitches again!  He did Way better than me when I had to get stitches!  I am pretty sure I cried like a baby!

MY friend sent this to me after she read my Facebook status  it seems fitting!

    • RAISING BOYS

The following came from an anonymous Mother in Austin, Texas...

Things I've learned from my Boys (honest and not kidding):

1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft.house 4 inches deep.

2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape
It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late

8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old man says they can only do it in the movies.

10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

      12.) Super glue is forever.

13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15.) VCR's do not eject "PB &J" sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.

19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.

21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.

23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

24.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.

Those who pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without boys do it because:

      a) For those with no children - this is totally hysterical!

      b) For those who already have children past this age, this is hilarious.

      c) For those who have children this age, this is not funny.

      d) For those who have children nearing this age, this is a warning.

      e) For those who have not yet had children, this is birth control!
