I looked at Levi and he started to scream "Lobster!!! Lobster!!!" Sure enough there was a big ol' crawdad. notice that the crawdad has a fresh water clam attached to his leg!

some more splashing

(Levi ran because he thought that the Crawdad was chasing him)
(Ash was upset because his brother has made him fall)
and then to the playground.

mental Health, Daddy blog

Working in the mental health area has re-affirmed my belief about the atonement and has given me so much hope for things to come . I watch people struggle with addiction, I have watched people hit the absolute bottom and then they have the ability to gain the strength to help themselves again there is so much success, then there are those who are not able to gain the strength, those whose diseases take control and takes over. I only can hope and pray that they will one day be able to be perfect in body and mind and spirit.

Almost a year.
It has been almost one year since my Daddy has left our mortal world. it still is hard. I still wake up and think I wonder what my dad is doing. I miss him so much this first year sucked! the birthdays the holidays and as we approach on the anniversary of his death it just seems that it is not any easier than the day of his death, but then I look at the year and think about the things that have happened, we made it through all the birthdays ( my mom's is tomorrow and it will be the hardest because last year I planned a party with my daddy and then I ended up in the hospital so i was not able to be there. It was the last birthday that he was there and I was sick in the hospital. I am not regretful, My Dad took control of the party and because of my wishes he made sure that the party went on. he called me when they walked in so I could hear the reaction. It was the happiest moment of my last year. the happiest moment was the last birthday that my mother spent with her husband. it really is not fair. I am not sure why this happened and I am still angry about the whole thing. there is nothing like my dad being there one day and not even 24 hours being so critical that there was not hope. before then I started telling my family that I love them every time before we parted and the day I before his surgery I told him , he told me he loved me and that he would be back in a week. I saw him less then 24 hours later, he was under sedation, he was on a bypass and he was intubated his chest was still opened. The thing that I have learned is it is so important to let your family and friends that you love them when you part, I know that my dad is in a great place and I know that he through the atonement we all can heal and no matter how angry I am I have a father in heaven that loves me and hears my constant prayers and comforts me.

Skiing or Snowboarding?

Yesterday we took our boys plus one extra up to Snowy Range. it brought me back to my days as an instructor, but I remember only the awesome kids, I am not saying that my kids were awful, but there was much room for improvement. Isaac has been skiing once a year for the past 5 years, but my other kiddos have not been as much. Ashton and I had our day skiing and he was a rockstar, I took him up the chair lift and he was the best skier in the bunch until the wind started to blow, then he cried, but he made it all the way down the hill once he started to cry! Levi had more fun taking his skis off then going down the hill, I think that he will snowboard next week and that will most likely go better. Isaac took more runs than his brothers and he was turning by the end of the day he is a bit of a no it all and he was telling me that he didn't need me to help him...little did he know! Our friend that went with us had a bit of a hard time picking it up, but he is a very special kid and he did really well! Dave told me today that he is needs to go every week or not at all. I laughed!

Things are looking up

Things are looking up. I am in a new job that I love, I have a great boss I work with great nurses and a great doctor. I am taking classes most of which I love! I know that I am in the right feild for me! I have a great husband even with all of his Dave-isms I love him more and more each day. My kids make me smile! I have a supportive family. My mom is wonderful and even though it is hard to get out of bed on my days off, even though My heart still aches, even though I am not as happy as I once was. things are looking up! Today I went to K-mart...I hate going there, but it just opened and Wal-mart is way to full, i digress but I bought new hair color I was not sure if I would like it but the lady that was at the check out told me that she loves the color I picked out and it should look great! I said I don't care as long as it covers all the grays. She said I was way too young to have gray hair, then she followed that remark with what are you 23? that made my day. it is silly how a little thing like someone thinking that you are younger than you are to make your day. I got home and changed my hair which has not been done since my dad passed away. I am have a hard time adjusting to it, bu I think that it is a good change for me!
I will post a picture later I need to take one and that is not my favorite thing to do (take a pic of my self)

A date day for ASH!

Today Ash and i went skiing, this is his first time and my first time in 10 years on skis. the trip started out fine the drive was as usual non stop talking from Ash in the back, but today it was not just to me he was also talking to Ranch... yes Ashton has an imaginary friend named ranch, ranch is 16 feet tall and has blue eyes and brown hair, sometimes he uses naughty words but for the most part he is a good pretend friend, so the three of us were at the ski area and Ashton was excited! after we got our gear on we headed to the slopes. I think that teaching should be left to the professionals (mind you I was a ski instructor for years, but teaching ones own child is not the best of ideas) Got a lesson for him and that meant I had an hour to myself, let me tell you that my three runs were just enough for me! I went and talked to my friend and then headed out to pick up Ashton he was skiing and loving it! We headed back to the lodge and that is when the water works started, "MOM!!! I don't want to give my snow shoes to the person! I want to keep them!" "MOM!!! I want to ride that! (pointing to the lift) "NO MOM!!! I am not tired" finally I get a very tired 4 year old to the car. He fell asleep after I snapped the seatbelt into place. I didn't bother to ask how Ranch did. today was a good day!

New years Resolutions

Happy New year! Here is for a better 2011! This year there are so many things that I could claim as a resolution, being more organized, losing weight, being happier the list could go on for a while so I decided not to make a resolution. instead I am just going to make the year 2011 the best year I can!

Last night- Who's Idea is it to stay up till midnight? well Isaac told me he was going to stay up until one, about 9:30 he was trying so hard to stay awake he was looking at the clock and every time the minute changed he would scream! it is 9:30,931... it was funny we were watching River Monsters and I looked at him at 10, I told him that I would wake him up when it was new years and he promptly went to sleep. 11 happens and by this time I am so tired I get this cleaver idea to change the clocks and tell him that it is 11:59 (so I can go to bed) Dave tried to wake him up and there was no way he was going to bring in the new year. He was so cute trying to stay up!

I hope that this new year is better and finds all my friends and family in good spirits!
